The event will be streamed over at the EssentialsTF Twitch Channel, which is embedded on the front page of this site. If you would like to watch live on Twitch, head on over to: https://www.twitch.tv/essentialstf
Official times are to be confirmed shortly.
If you have tried refreshing the page and it is still not working, we are most likely having technical issues. We are aware of this and are working on fixing it as soon as possible.
We are looking at doing restreams of the event sometime after at different times for people who can’t make the main stream. We are also going to be posting VODs of matches on our Youtube channel, so there will be plenty of chances to get in on the action!
Attending the Event
Check the sidebar for redirects to the Insomnia website for tickets. To compete in the event you must have a valid BYOC ticket, but a standard weekend ticket will be enough to come watch.
Competing TF2 players will be in the BYOC Area, which can only be accessed by people with a valid ticket. That being said, we do have a viewing area outside our production area where people can watch the stream at the event. We are next to the tournament zone near the esports stage, imaged below.
Without someone with a valid BYOC pass, you will be unable to enter. This may change at the event, so ask one of the event staff whether or not this is still the case.
Whilst we do have our own talented photographers, we are always happy for you to take pictures! In fact, share some of them over on twitter using #i65tf2. However, we ask that you do not disturb staff members whilst they are working or attempt to enter the production zone at any time.
For security reasons, we will not allow anyone to leave personal items in the production area. There are various cloakrooms and secure safes within the NEC where you can store items.
If you wish to directly donate towards the event, you can do so through our Matcherino page! This can be found in our sidebar, however if you wish to support the event in a different way, subscribing or donating bits on Twitch will go towards funding future events.
The marketplace is a range of items that you can purchase, with a portion of the proceedings going towards EssentialsTF and the rest going towards the event. There are physical and non-physical items; for example there are a range of shirts and posters available which you can buy. On the other hand, we have some non-physical items like getting a recorded message of your choice from one of the Talent from the event or a session with a member of staff on a specific topic like Production or Source Filmmaker, head on over and see if there is anything you fancy.
Direct contributions (e.g. purely monetary donations) will go directly to the event with no money going to EssentialsTF. When purchasing a marketplace item, a portion of the money will go to EssentialsTF, so bear that in mind when making your contribution.
Ascent.NA are paying to attend the event themselves. However, due to the large amount of expenses it takes to send a North American team over the ocean, we have decided to reimburse them for as much as we can reasonably can. An arrangement has been made where the prize pool will be split into $500 segments which are distributed to either the prize pool or Ascent. For example, the first $500 raised will go to Ascent and the second will go to the prize pool and so on. Any money over $5000 will go to the prize pool only.
Details as to when the fundraiser will close are to be confirmed. Keep an eye on our Twitter page for updates!
Am I ready for LAN?
If you are unsure if you have everything ready in advance of the event, check this list. This should contain most of what you will need, although personal attention should take priority. We are not responsible if you have forgotten something that we have not listed.
HAVE YOU GOT…
