The biggest TF2 competitive event is back again!
From the 23rd to the 26th August, the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK will host the Insomnia Gaming Festival’s latest event, Insomnia65. There will be a range of cool things to check out and take part in, but most importantly it will be the home for the best TF2 teams in the world right now to claim the ultimate bragging rights (and some money of course).
The tournament will be produced by EssentialsTF to watch both at the event and online, so there is no reason to miss out on the most competitive weekend on the game’s calendar! Keep an eye on this website and our Twitter page over at @TF2Essentials for any updates, and if you have any questions about anything head over to our discord and we will be happy to see you there. We hope that everyone will have a great time; whether you are competing in the tournament for glory or for fun, meeting up with fellow TF2 players, or watching from home! Whilst you are at it, why don’t you check out our fundraiser where you can grab some merchandise or cool perks and directly support the event?
That being said, lets make this year a good one!
There are a variety of hotels around the NEC, with some near the main entrance and others nearer the other end of the centre. Since the event takes place near the main entrance, Hotels nearer Birmingham International Station or Birmingham Airport would be a shorter distance. If you have booked a hotel near the Airport, there is a monorail service that takes you to Birmingham International Station which is directly connected to the NEC. Insomnia Gaming Festival also has Indoor Camping available in one of the Halls.
The nearest station to Insomnia is Birmingham International, which is directly connected to the NEC. However if you are travelling from further away, you may need to get a train from Birmingham New Street to Birmingham International.
There are a range of coach services from across the UK to Birmingham Airport. Once at the airport there is a monorail service that connects it to the train station and the NEC.
The nearest airport is Birmingham International Airport, connected to the train station and NEC via a monorail service. There are numerous train links however for Gatwick or Heathrow, so plan your trip.
If you are travelling by car, you will find the NEC and Birmingham International Airport clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes. These include the M42, M40, and M6; aim for exiting from the M42 at Junction 6. If you are using a Sat-nav, enter the postcode B40 1NT.
If you need assistance with your travel, for example if you are having trouble planning your journey, do not hesitate to ask one of us on the Discord. One of us would be happy to help where possible. Further details can be found on the Insomnia Website.
